Do you use Dawn dish soap?

It has often been mentioned that Dawn dish soap has formaldehyde in it and I often receive a response something like, “Surely not! Wildlife rescues use Dawn to wash wildlife after commercial oil tanker spills. I remember the commercials!”

Dawn Dish Soap is toxic because it contains harmful ingredients like Triclosan, 1,4-dioxane, synthetic dye, fragrance, and the dreaded methylisothiazolinone. These ingredients can cause mild to severe health conditions like nerve and liver damage, skin irritation, and allergic reactions.

You see, companies are not required to list all ingredients on personal use products, just industry level. Did you know formaldehyde has about 14 different names? If you research, you will see methylisothiazolinone and Methylchloroisothiazolinone are both forms of formaldehyde.

Many dish soap brands have labels that state the product is “biodegradable” with Methylisothiazlinone and Methylchloroisothiazolinone listed as ingredients. If you are, like me, are allergic to formaldehyde, you may want to make certain you are avoiding that these chemicals to prevent skin reactions.

Dawn soap is also toxic to wildlife, especially the aquatic community, because it poisons the water. This liquid cleaning agent contains 1,4-dioxane, a substance renowned for polluting or contaminating the water.

Methylisothiazolinone is highly toxic for freshwater and estuarine organisms. Dawn also contains plenty of other dangerous chemicals. Pei-14 PEG-24/Ppg-16 Copolymer has links to cancer, organ effects, skin irritation, and damage to your vision.

Even the company EWG, which allows companies to buy good ratings, give Dawn a D rating!

That’s why I threw away all my Dawn and switched to Lemon Brite, because I want to ensure my family’s health.

Danger Lurking in Your Cabinets

Many pop;ar cleaning products can harm you and your families. Sure, they clean and leave your house smelling great and fresh, but they can also mess with the neurons in your brain and nervous system. Many of their ingredients are hormone disruptors, Yup, that’s right, you heard right. These ingredients love to be absorbed your body’s stored fat along with you largest organ, your skin!

I’m ever so grateful for a dear friendr who recommended I try out a shop club that she used. She believed it would help me live a true wellness lifestyle. What she told me made so much sense, that I decided to shop for the things I’ve been shopping for at the local big box stores.

I pinch myself from time to time to think about how I made this decision to switch stores nearly 20 years ago. Honestly, this shop club has kept me healthier than ever and saved me tons of money over the years.

So, as I share this life changing shop club with others, it surprises me how stuck they are on traditional poisonous products that do more harm than good. I have found that educating the end consumer is what I’m suppose to do. I pray for hearts to be open to learn that what you breathe in matters.

What a difference shopping healthier products makes! I love shopping here, and all the information I’ve learned over the last 20 years! Dangerous things should come with warning labels, but often they don’t.
I’m so glad there’s a one-stop shop for better safer products for me and my family.

Often, we don’t see the harm these products cause until many years later. Every so often, I hear a new illness has been linked to the use of these common every day home products. Educating people on how ingredients matter isn’t an easy task. But possible for those who are  tired of being tired to try a safer brand.

The Best Dishwashing Liquid of 2023?

The New York Times promotes this liquid dishwashing liquids as the “Best in 2023” Well, that isn’t necessarily true.

Advertisement for these and National brands bank on the idea that consumers are dumb by promoting “green” products like Mrs. Meyrs and Seventh Generation as safe but, in reality, these detergents contain formaldehyde to help preserve the products in warehouses for a few years before being transported to the retailer and then it’s stored in the retailers’ warehouses until it’s time to stock the shelves.

Did you know?  All of these products in the photo, are to be used with caution—as they contain possible skin irritants. Chemical products such as ethanol, glycol ethers, formaldehyde, ammonia and others are often found in these cleaners. Mixing these products with bleach can produce toxic fumes. Repeated exposure can cause asthma-like symptoms and harm the central nervous system.Plus, they have been known to cause swelling and tearing of the eye tissue. The emitted vapors can cause coughing, wheezing, labored breathing, and in severe cases, death.

There are so many safer options at the Wellness Shop Club!

Clean Laundry, Safer Ingredients

The goal of EcoSense® is to help you clean your home without compromising your family’s safety, the environment, or your wallet.

Most laundry detergents use unsafe chemicals like chlorine bleach, formaldehyde, phthalates, and parabens that can damage your lung capacity or irritate your skin. Others may use nontoxic ingredients, but those cleaners don’t effectively remove stains. And most of them use way more water and plastic than is necessary.

Get more for your money! Less than $20 for 96 loads!! It works great powered by 5 natural enzymes.

Super-concentrated laundry detergent that easily lifts stains and smells amazing. It uses safer ingredients (no chlorine bleach here!), reduces plastic waste and is more affordable per wash. Just one pump or 10 mL (that’s 2 teaspoons!!) is all you need to clean a full load of laundry, and one small 32 oz. bottle is enough to wash 96 loads. EcoSense Reusable Laundry Pump and Drain-Back Cap sold separately.

EcoSense is dedicated to helping you make the most of your cleaning budget! We concentrate our products so you don’t pay for excess water.

EcoSense uses:
• Uses natural enzymes to remove tough stains like grass, chocolate, grease, mud, and more

  • Free from unsafe ingredients like chlorine bleach, formaldehyde, phthalates, and parabens
  • Super-concentrated formula that costs much less and uses less water and plastic than Tide
  • Effective in cold water

REPLACES: Tide, Gain, and any other laundry detergent

The result? You get superior cleaning power at a fraction of the cost per use compared to other brands.

Why pay for water at the store when you can add it for free from the tap? We are pretty sure 100% of households have running water available on tap. If a product needs water, you can just add it at home.

You shouldn’t have to choose between clean, fresh-smelling laundry and your family’s wellness. That’s why MelaPower is formulated with safer ingredients that clean clothes effectively, but it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!

Yikes!

I went down this aisle looking for a dust bin.  Yup – I went down the wrong aisle. But, in my defense I only go down the cleaning aisle maybe twice a year, if that much.

I couldn’t believe how quickly my head started throbbing, my nose started running and I started wheezing from all of these nasty chemical-based products.

It also amazes me how many people still use these big name brand products. Maybe it is the catchy songs on the commercials.  Or, the awesome actors/actresses (who they pay big).  But guys and gals – this stuff is poison for your body. It is toxic for you, your family and your fur babies.

Google “Lung Study”. (or just click here) It is a 20-year study showing that cleaning just once a week with the name brands causes as much damage to your lungs as smoking a pack of cigarettes a DAY!

That is just plain crazy.

When you know better you do better.  If you want to help protect the health and lungs of your loved ones drop a comment below.  I would love to show you how to shop for better, safer products that are made in the USA. Oh, let’s not forget you will save money and they are delivered to your .  Now that’s a win / win / win scenario.

Is your brand safe?

I try my best to use natural, non-toxic products and encourage others to do the same for their  health and for the environment.

In the photo, the one on the left kills 99.9% of viruses when used as directed. The one on the right (the one I use) kills 99.9% of viruses when used as directed.

The one on the left damages your lungs—the damage is similar to smoking a pack of cigarettes every day. The one on the right is a plant-based disinfectant with ZERO harsh chemicals and is safe to use around food.

The one on the left needs to be rinsed off before anyone touches the surfaces on which it was applied. The one on the right is safe to use on food surfaces.

The one on the left costs $12.46 for a 24 ounce bottle. The one on the right makes TWO 24 ounce bottles and is $10.49. Added up it’s a total savings of $14.43!

I don’t understand why people are so loyal to the one on the left but I DO UNDERSTAND why 20,000 Americans make the switch to my favorite store every single month.

Think about it, all of the products are:
Made in North America.
Better.
Safer.
Cleaner.
More affordable.
Better for the planet.
Delivered to me Amazon-speed without the layoffs.

Poisoning…Did you know

Each year, more than two million poisoning cases are reported in the United States — some of which are tragically fatal, but many of which are preventable.

Household products are one of those preventable ones. By simply switching to a responsible manufacturer that offers products with safer ingredients, lives can be saved.

I’m not sorry to burst your bubble, but Seventh Generation and Mrs. Meijier are not as safe as you may believe. They can contain formaldehyde and who know what other harmful ingredients. I remember when I didn’t know that there were unsafe products sold. I thought that they made it to the shelves because they had been tested and approved for safety and I really thought the companies and testing boards would recall everything unsafe. How wrong I was.

I’ve been shopping better, safer and cheaper for 19 years now! I am so happy to have an answer to help my friends!!
