DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE HAVING A STROKE?

A stroke occurs when a blood vessel to a part of the brain becomes clogged or bursts. When this occurs, the nerve cells in that part of the brain can no longer work the right way. Every part of the brain controls a specific part of the body. The part of the brain that is affected by the blockage or bleeding will determine what deficits appear (for example, trouble speaking, walking or numbness and weakness).

Strokes are often preventable. And a big percentage of the ones that happen are treatable with the right care, right away. It’s a matter of knowing what to do, taking action and spreading the word.

Use the acronym B.E.F.A.S.T. for recognizing a stroke:

  • B – Balance: Watch for sudden loss of balance
  • E – Eyes: Check for vision loss
  • F – Face: Look for an uneven smile
  • A – Arm: Check if one arm is weak
  • S – Speech: Listen for slurred speech
  • T – Time: Call 9-1-1 right away

The Good & the Bad

I’ve got Good News & Bad News…..

First the Bad News:

  • People who have two drinks each day do NOT have a reduced risk of death than those who don’t drink at all, which is different than what we used to think.
  • People who drink about two drinks a day do NOT have any health benefits from drinking those drinks, again debunking previous misconceptions.
  • Worse: Women who drank 25 or more grams of alcohol per day and men who drank 45 or more grams per day had a higher risk of death from any cause.

So what’s the GOOD NEWS?

Well, now you know the truth!

it’s the consistent, little things that you do regularly that have the biggest impact on your health and your goals.

Fighting Germs

We are always hearing about germs. How about the toxins in your house when you clean with bleech and all those other chemicals.

A 20-year independent study reveals a shocking fact. Using national brand cleaning products as little as once per week is as damaging to lungs capacity as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day!

I ditched them all and now use natural, safer, more effective ingredients that are plant derived and biodegradable.

Did You Know That Fiber Benefits the FULL BODY?

Check out what happens when you get the right amount of fiber every day. Fiber helps to…

  • Promote Digestive Health — According to research, a high-fiber diet helps reduce the risk of many serious health concerns in the digestive tract.
  • Promote Healthy Weight Loss — Helps you feel fuller longer, reducing overeating, which in turn helps prevent weight gain and makes it easier to shed excess pounds.
  • Help Reduce the Risk of Heart Disease — Soluble fiber may help lower total blood cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, which may in turn help lower the risk of heart disease.
  • Sweep Away Toxins and Waste — Fiber helps keep toxins from recirculating in the bile and blood, and speeds the passage of waste from the body.
  • Support Immunity — Provides food for the “friendly” bacteria in your large intestine that fight the growth of harmful bacteria and contribute to immune support throughout the body.
  • Improve Regularity — According to research, a high-fiber diet may help promote a healthy digestive tract and keep the gunk out of the trunk!

Fiber is SO important to our bodies!
