Do you have a spouse that snores? Or is it you?

It may be more than just snoring. It could be Sleep Apnea.

Sleep Apnea is a common disorder that causes your breathing to stop or get very shallow.

There are three different types of sleep apnea, but the most common type is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). It occurs when throat muscles relax and block the flow of air into the lungs

Breathing pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes. They may occur 30 times or more an hour.

Sleep apnea is a dangerous condition because it can cause several different complications, many of which are severe or life-threatening. These include

  • Heart Damage
  • Heart Failure.
  • Strokes

Sleep apnea causes an increase in pressure in the blood vessels around your heart and on some of the chambers of your heart itself.

Here are the symptoms:

  • Loud snoring.
  • Episodes in which you stop breathing during sleep — which would be reported by another person.
  • Gasping for air during sleep.
  • Awakening with a dry mouth.
  • Morning headache.
  • Difficulty staying asleep, known as insomnia.
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness, known as hypersomnia.
  • Difficulty paying attention while awake.
  • Irritability.

If you believe your loved one (or you) may have sleep apnea, it’s important to talk to your health provider about it. There are a variety of treatments but just losing 10% of your body weight can make a big improvement in sleep apnea!

Start Your Morning Off Right

Start Your Morning Morning Off Right With This Blood Orange Smoothie Recipe

Blood Orange and Banana Smoothies are such a great way to start off your mornings! The pretty pop of color will keep moods high, and the Vitamin C can help shorten the length of time you suffer from an inevitable cold. Blood oranges are closer to red than orange on the inside, and it’s those darker pigments that make them higher in antioxidants than regular oranges.

Blood oranges range in color on the inside from pinkish to ruby red to, well, blood red. On the outside, the skin has a bit of a maroon-ish hue. As far as flavor goes, you won’t mistake these for something other than oranges.

Research suggests a strong association between cancer and low vitamin D levels. When the sun’s rays hit the skin, the skin cells are able to manufacture Vitamin D. Just 15 minutes a day of sun exposure can make a BIG difference in your levels AND your mood!

Danger Lurking in Your Cabinets

Many pop;ar cleaning products can harm you and your families. Sure, they clean and leave your house smelling great and fresh, but they can also mess with the neurons in your brain and nervous system. Many of their ingredients are hormone disruptors, Yup, that’s right, you heard right. These ingredients love to be absorbed your body’s stored fat along with you largest organ, your skin!

I’m ever so grateful for a dear friendr who recommended I try out a shop club that she used. She believed it would help me live a true wellness lifestyle. What she told me made so much sense, that I decided to shop for the things I’ve been shopping for at the local big box stores.

I pinch myself from time to time to think about how I made this decision to switch stores nearly 20 years ago. Honestly, this shop club has kept me healthier than ever and saved me tons of money over the years.

So, as I share this life changing shop club with others, it surprises me how stuck they are on traditional poisonous products that do more harm than good. I have found that educating the end consumer is what I’m suppose to do. I pray for hearts to be open to learn that what you breathe in matters.

What a difference shopping healthier products makes! I love shopping here, and all the information I’ve learned over the last 20 years! Dangerous things should come with warning labels, but often they don’t.
I’m so glad there’s a one-stop shop for better safer products for me and my family.

Often, we don’t see the harm these products cause until many years later. Every so often, I hear a new illness has been linked to the use of these common every day home products. Educating people on how ingredients matter isn’t an easy task. But possible for those who are  tired of being tired to try a safer brand.
